Play-based learning and bilingual growth

At Little Friends Big Heroes Childcare, learning happens naturally through play, exploration, and meaningful everyday experiences. Our bilingual English & Spanish environment supports the whole child—building confidence, independence, social-emotional skills, creativity, and school readiness from infancy through age 5.

Programs Designed for Every Stage

Children grow and learn differently at every age. Explore our Infant, Toddler, and Preschool & Pre-K programs to see how activities, routines, and learning experiences are thoughtfully adapted to each developmental stage.

Infant care

A gentle, secure atmosphere offering sensory exploration, tummy time, gross motor development, gentle bonding, and early communication through songs and soft movement.

Toddler discovery

Focusing on emerging independence, social-emotional learning, counting, shapes, colors, fine motor skills, and sensory play woven into everyday bilingual interactions.

Preschool & Pre-K

Building kindergarten readiness through early literacy, phonics, numbers, science discovery, problem-solving, creative art, and social cooperation in both English and Spanish.

Our Curriculum Approach

Learning at Little Friends Big Heroes is thoughtfully planned while still allowing children to learn naturally through play. Our curriculum supports social-emotional, cognitive, language, physical, and creative development through hands-on experiences, bilingual English & Spanish learning, and age-appropriate activities.

Bilingual Learning Through Everyday Play

English and Spanish are naturally incorporated throughout our daily routine through play, music, stories, conversations, counting, colors, and hands-on activities. Children are introduced to both languages in a relaxed and engaging environment, allowing them to build vocabulary, confidence, and an appreciation for bilingual learning at their own pace.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Childhood is about learning, exploring, and creating meaningful memories. Throughout the year, children enjoy outdoor play, hands-on experiences, seasonal activities, field trips, and special celebrations. We celebrate major holidays and each child’s birthday, creating opportunities to build friendships, explore our community, and experience the joy of learning together.

Curriculum & Development

Our curriculum supports the whole child through play, intentional learning experiences, and ongoing developmental observation—helping children build confidence, independence, and skills for their next stage of learning.

Play-based learning

Children learn through hands-on exploration, sensory experiences, creative activities, problem-solving, and purposeful play designed to support social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development.

ELM curriculum & school readiness

We use the Early Learning Matters (ELM) curriculum to provide age-appropriate learning experiences in early literacy, language, math, science, social-emotional development, and more. Activities are adapted to each developmental stage while helping children build a strong foundation for future school success.

Development & assessment

Children’s development is observed throughout the year using everyday activities and developmental screening tools such as ASQ-3. Progress is shared with families through ongoing communication and parent conferences, allowing us to celebrate growth and identify areas where additional support may be helpful.
